Understanding Your Condition

What is a Chronic Wound?

A chronic wound is defined as a wound that fails to progress through the normal stages of healing within an expected timeframe, typically four to six weeks. These wounds often become stuck in the inflammatory phase and require specialized intervention to restart the healing process.

Chronic wounds can develop from various underlying conditions including diabetes, poor circulation, prolonged pressure, or compromised immune function. Without proper treatment, these wounds can lead to serious complications including infection, tissue damage, and decreased quality of life.

At Advanced Wound Care & Solutions, we work collaboratively with your primary care provider to address both the wound itself and the underlying factors that may be impeding your healing. This team-based approach ensures you receive comprehensive care that targets the root causes while promoting optimal wound recovery.

Early intervention is key. If you have a wound that hasn't shown improvement within 2-3 weeks, contact us for a comprehensive evaluation.

Innovative Healing

Advanced Approaches

Standard wound care methods often fall short for chronic wounds. We utilize advanced regenerative therapies that work at the cellular level, providing your body with the resources it needs to heal more effectively.

Cellular Regeneration Therapy

Your body contains natural repair mechanisms that can be harnessed to heal damaged tissue. When applied to a wound, these cellular therapies work by:

  • Stimulating new cell development to rebuild damaged areas
  • Decreasing inflammation that can impede the healing process
  • Enhancing circulation to deliver essential nutrients and oxygen
Ideal for: Deep wounds, diabetic ulcers, and wounds with compromised blood flow

Amniotic Tissue Grafts

Sourced from donated placental tissue, amniotic grafts serve as a highly effective biological wound covering. These grafts offer:

  • Natural growth factors that activate your body's healing response
  • A protective layer that guards against infection and fluid loss
  • Anti-inflammatory benefits that help minimize discomfort and swelling
Ideal for: Venous ulcers, pressure injuries, and burn wounds

Biologic Therapies

State-of-the-art cellular treatments and growth factor applications engineered for the most challenging wound cases:

  • Accelerating tissue regeneration to restore damaged skin
  • Targeting inflammatory responses that delay wound closure
  • Optimizing vascular supply for improved healing conditions
Ideal for: Complex wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, and circulation-impaired wounds

Our care coordinators will gather initial information and work with you and your physician to schedule your first evaluation as quickly as possible.

We accept Medicare Part B, which covers medically necessary wound care services when ordered by a physician. Our team handles the authorization process and works directly with Medicare to ensure your wound care is properly covered. We understand that wound care needs can be urgent. Once we receive a referral and the necessary documentation, we strive to schedule initial evaluations within a few days. For wounds showing signs of infection or other concerning symptoms, we make every effort to expedite the appointment. Contact us immediately if you believe your situation requires urgent attention.

Visit frequency depends on your individual wound care needs and treatment plan. During the initial evaluation, our wound care specialist will assess your wound and develop a customized treatment schedule. Some patients require weekly visits, while others may need more frequent care. As your wound improves, visit frequency typically decreases. We continuously reassess and adjust your treatment plan based on your progress.

Our providers are specialized in wound management and bring advanced treatment modalities that were previously only available in clinical settings. We focus exclusively on wound care, allowing us to stay current with the latest evidence-based treatments. Additionally, we maintain close communication with your primary care team to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care throughout your healing journey.

To begin services, we typically need: your contact information and address, Medicare or insurance information, your primary care physician's name and contact details, a brief description of your wound and how long you've had it, and any relevant medical history. A physician's order for wound care services is required, but our team can help facilitate this process by reaching out to your doctor on your behalf.
